Rituals - The Time Capsule

Adelaide Celebrant Time Capsule Ritual Sven Studios.jpg

Your wedding day is possibly one of the most important and happy days in your life. Having something meaningful from the day which you personally use and add to during your married years is a loving and unique way of capturing your love story.

Components can include your favourite bottle of Wine, Champagne, Gin, Whiskey or even Irish Cream and a love letter or poem to your partner along with a beautiful box (I can supply wooden boxes as an optional extra).

During the ceremony we will seal this time capsule for you to have at home until your first argument, anniversary or celebration, e.g., birth of a baby, in a place you see often to remind you of the commitment you are both making on your special day.

When the time arrives to open the box, sit down and be present in the moment. Share some of the contents of the bottle while you read your love letters and reminisce about the beautiful day you married. Handy Tip: keep a box of tissues alongside while you do this.

Re-fill the box with a new bottle, write some new letters and put it all back together (with your original letters) and do it all again during your future years of marriage.

If you don’t want to include a bottle of something in the box, you can enclose mementos from your special day or relationship, e.g., tickets to that fave concert, boarding passes from that holiday or photos of a memorable moment, along with your love letters.

The ritual can be varied in any number of ways through including letters from family, children and guests explaining why they believe the two of you are perfect for each other.

In years to come you and your family will enjoy looking back over your lifetime of love.
